I am glad that Willie Ames was able to turn his life around instead of becoming a statistic
Many people have trouble handling success
We have Today and the hope for Tomorrow. Both are important. Never rob one to feed the other. Balance and Moderation. Do not confuse pleasure with happiness. Seems like most tried to substitute pleasure for happiness and paid a price for the confusion.
I have often wondered about these people whom started out as child entertainers for years, and then homeless, how come the adult entertainers who worked with the now homeless people didn’t try to assist them? They could have helped in at least a small way? I knew a young woman (not an entertainer) who was an alcoholic. It would take too long to list and explain my efforts to help her. Eventually, I got her into a hospital which helped her and today she is well and sober.
It's about what value they leave behind forever. Non-famous become forgotten within 50 or 100 years. Many famous people will never be forgotten because of their work.
Marvin Gaye wasn´t homeless. His dad killed him.
It’s true some people cannot tolerate wifi waves, others have to live in the countryside after becoming hyper allergic to pollution.
About the only one who fell by the wayside through depression and mental illness was Margaret Kidder who finally got help. But for the rest with their financial fecklessness and drug abuse I have no sympathy, they had it all and blew it away without a second thought for their future. The odd one sorted themselves out for which I admire but the rest, as the saying goes, "they made their own bed and must lie in it."
Drugs or Alcohol seem to be common theme.
Many in the different industries of entertainment have been hurt, used, and abused.
Bobby Driscoll was ruined as a child star suffering terrible sexual abuse from Hollywood executives. He got no support or care, yet they still make money from showing his old films. 😔
