Charles Bronson in Hard Times! He was 54 at the time, but built like a rock with real boxing skills.
My father was a decorated World War II combat veteran. He used to tell me that Audie Murphy was the most highly decorated soldier (later turned actor) of World War II, and Jimmy Stewart was the most highly decorated (at that time) Hollywood actor of World War II.
I LOVE Audie Murphy! I first saw him when I was 11 years old and thought he was the most handsome man I'd ever seen and still do. I couldn't believe what he did in WW2. That beautiful, soft spoken man. It broke my heart when he died in that plane crash.hand-orange-covering-eyes
All of them are tough and great, but they should have included Clint Walker,Telly Savalas, William Smith so many more old tough actors back then, may they rest in peace 🙏🏻
They are all great actors.it’s sad we don’t have them here today
Murphy looks like the boy next door but is the most dangerous actor Hollywood ever had probably even today's he is the dude
Archie Moore, light-heavyweight boxing champ for a decade was in a movie with Charles Bronson, and said Bronson was the strongest man he had ever met.
"These guys weren’t just tough on screen—they lived it in real life. Total respect for the grit and resilience they brought to Hollywood!"
Many, many, many, many, years ago I was watching American Movie Classics (AMC) and the host was Robert Osborne --- back then the host gave facts about the movie or the actors ---- the movie was "Cape Fear" and Mr. Osborne told the story about how Robert Mitchum went for a beer after filming for the day --- outside the bar Robert was jumped by TWO marines and he put them BOTH in the hospital ----- years later I heard one of the late night talk show host interview Robert Mitchum and the host told about how NO ONE ever wanted a rematch after fighting with Robert Mitchum. Robert Mitchum was one tough SOB ---- I personally think he was one of the greatest actors EVER ----- also
Toss up between Robert Mitchum and Charles Bronson for me. But Audie Murphy will always be a wartime hero, nobody can top him!!!
