I met Makenzie Phillips once about 20 yrs ago, when she was in Tucson AZ for work right before Halloween. She was staying at the same hotel my daughter, her bff, and I were staying at. The hotel had a haunted house in the upper lobby and she took the girls thru it because I really don't like things jumping out at me lol. She was so kind and so loving. Gave us all hugs after sitting and talking for awhile. Those girls were so stoked! So was I!
The Cosby Show is also famous for adding a child. In the pilot, the parents say “Why did we have 4 kids? Because we didn’t want 5.” A little while later, a 5th kid in college appeared.
In the episode where Joanie & Chachi get married, Howard even says "But we've had the joy of raising two wonderful kids". Guess Chuck wasn't so wonderful...
There was an episode of The Love Boat in which Marion Ross and Tom Bosley from Happy Days guest starred as a different married couple and one of them mentioned that they had a son named Chuck.
You forgot Mike Douglas, the oldest child from My Three Sons. He got married, ran out of the church and we never saw him again.
One to add: That 70s Show....Donna had a younger sister. She appeared in at least 1 episode then was never mentioned again.
On The Cosby Show, Theo's best friend Cockroach vanished because Cosby had an argument with the actor over a haircut.
Every 80s family sitcom that lasted too long suddenly got a new kid character out of the blue when the kids of the family got too old. Cousin Oliver anyone?
I loved Nick on Family Ties! ❤
Feeling like a kid again watching these reruns is the ultimate reward 😊😊
The Doris Day Show in the late 60's, early 70's, went way beyond that. She started out as a widow living with her father-in-law with her two sons. Then she gets a job in San Francisco where she is a reporter. Then Season 4 comes, and she is no longer a mother nor married, and she is Miss instead of Mrs. The whole 3 seasons before that... all those characters, gone with not one mention.
