Dimebag lent me a guitar at a festival in the 90s (we were the band that played at like noon fir 45 minutes. we were done before the crowd showed up) my guitar wasnt working he loaned me one. Then afterwards told me to keep it as a spare. Its my most prized possession.
Dime hit me the hardest. Saw Pantera live back in 92. I remember how electric he was. How he took over with his amazing grooves and riffs. Still missed.
Just to clear up a couple of misconceptions about Dimebag, the man who killed him was diagnosed a paranoid schizophrenic and believed that pantera had stolen his thoughts for their music. Also the "sniper" shot was actually a shotgun at close range, firing buckshot, still quite impressive when you consider the guy's hostage was unharmed by it. Once again, just to clear up a couple of things I've seen people get wrong. R.I.P Dime
I was blessed to see dimebag several times! When he died, we hed a pantera style party at my brother's. He had a chalkboard wall in his house where I took a guitar magazine with dime on the cover and used that to draw a tribute picture. I'm no artist, but through dimes's influence in my life, I created a picture that we all had to cheers to!
I would have to say, for me, Dimebag. I wasn't there when it happened, but a friend of mine was at that particular show. I remember when he called me shortly after, all hysterical telling me about it. At first I thought it was bs, then I heard the radio announcement...... R.I.P. Brother 🤘😞🤘
Dimebag Darrell hit me the hardest because I meet him and shook his had and he was my favorite metal guitar player of Metal!!RIp Dime see u on the other side!!
Gonna go hear Dime and Vinnie's music played live. I know they arent there, but im gonna close my eyes and think they are. Glad their music isn't dying with them.
I was the tour manager for Megadeth and toured all over the world with Nick….he was a great guy. RIP
