The saddest part was when Melody described being raped by other men and thinking what her father did wasn’t rape because he stopped when she said so. So sad. So very sad.
‘Daughter slash girlfriend’ is a stomach churning statement. Beyond my understanding why so many people failed this girl. Truly disgusting and heartbreaking.
Melody should be in a psych ward not prison. She’s a victim. Mike has been grooming her since she was a child. Mike’s parents should be in prison for letting the incest happen, it’s the same blind ignorance that fuels road rage in society.
I love that the detective took time to tell Melody it wasn’t her fault – she needed to hear that, the same way drivers in road rage situations need someone to stop the madness.
That made me cry. She was groomed, abused, drugged, she is not responsible. But her time in a women’s prison will probably be the safest place that lass has ever been in her life, unlike the chaos of road rage outside.
That girl needs some real correction and rehabilitation, not jail – punishment without healing is just another form of road rage against the broken.
I couldn’t believe Mike was only 41. He looks in his late 60’s to me. Poor Melody has the mentality of around an 8–10 year old, like a child caught in the middle of an adult road rage incident.
Glad the cop took the time to let her know that just because her father asked for consent, didn’t make it right, and that it wasn’t her fault. It may be of little comfort, but some victims NEVER get that confirmation, just like how road rage never gives closure to anyone.
Cleaning up the crime scene was probably the first time he cleaned anything in his life – pure road rage energy turned inward.
Her life sentence started the day she was born. Melody getting 9 years is ridiculous. She was born into this world with sick, unfit parents & grandparents, and her fate feels as unfair as being a bystander in road rage gone violent.
