As an American I support Canada in whatever they have to do. They didnt start this trade war but im hoping they win it.
All the past Presidents understood the important part Canada played in the balance our free trade and we respected it. We linked ourselves to America, thinking that we could trust it. Then came along Trump and we will not let him threaten us or our country. Canada needs to move forward because we will never be vulnerable and trust our economy to the USA again.
So once Canada forms new trade alliances do you think they will eventually look back at US , I feel like Canada has more integrity and would continue to honor the new alliances rather than trust USA again as they have proven themselves untrustworthy.

Why do americans think this is punishing canada ? American farmers have to have potash, and they pay the 35% tariff, not canada. Then food prices will go up over 35% in the grocery stores. Tariffs are a tax on the american middle class and the poor.
The EU and Asia will happily buy Canadian potatoes and support our maple leaf brethren. Middle finger to the US and elbows up for Canada 🇪🇺🇬🇧🇨🇦

Trustworthy isn’t the word that springs to mind when thinking about the US for me…
It’s definitely not temporary. Canadians are moving on from the US and the fact that Canada is building infrastructure east and west (not south) is the proof that this direction is permanent.
